As the days are moving, the traditional style of marriages is becoming less in number. Most of the people today are engaged in a civil ceremony. These ceremonies are much easier and flexible for registering the marriages. Earlier a civil ceremony was only preferred by those who were not so religious in their mind, but now a civil ceremony is gaining popularity among people who have a religious bent of mind. The reason that the civil ceremony is gaining so much popularity is they offer flexibility.

The best thing about a civil wedding is that they can be conducted from anywhere, provided if the person can find an official with the power to register the event. A civil ceremony can also be conducted in the chamber of the judge. Generally people follow the registration with a formal reception where they invite guests to have a get together. It is very important for a person to recognize the legalities involved in a civil ceremony in advance to the date they think to register the marriage, so that they do not have to face any complications.

For a civil ceremony the person needs some important documents. Before arranging a civil ceremony, the person should ensure that they should have all the documents referred below with them. The first and the most important documents needed for a civil ceremony are identity proof with the person’s photo. It can be anything like passport or birth certificate. The person needs to show the residential proof. There are many people who are already married but now want to arrange a civil wedding ceremony, so in this particular case, they have to show the certificate that shows that they are married and same applies for the divorcees also.

The great advantage of a civil ceremony is the benefit of customization that they offer to the couples and the couple does not have to get involved in taking vows, or any rituals.  In a civil ceremony, there is no particular order and there is no need to follow the speeches of clergy. Ultimately, a couple has to decide that whether they want to have a traditional ceremony or a civil ceremony.
